I created this page today in response to some nonsense going on out there in the minds of man.
Sounds like this conversation could go anywhere doesn't it? Well, much has been said regarding the insecurity and control
issues of many of our martial arts instructors here in the United States, I find myself commenting again on the series of
events some students in my neighborhood have to endure. First as a student, novice, beginner, we often do not even know
how to formulate a proper question regarding the art form we may be interested in pursuing, or may be available to us.
Sometimes the only source we have for information is the instructor his/herself. Just as it is the responsibility of
the instructor to set down the basic foundation right and true, it is also the responsibility of the student to investigate
the source of the instructors information. Along with this I believe the instructor owes it to his/her community to
be honest about what they are offerring and what is their true capabilities. How far did they go in their own studies,
development of the art, etc.
I am not going to mention your names.
You know who you are, and we know who you are.
Please tell the truth!!!
In the 21st century where most of us are living all expressions are welcome and relevant.
Let each individual choose for them self.
Stop making people feel like you have all the answers.
Like your way is the Way!
Stop telling lies. Stop living the lie.
Don't expect the rest of us who have actually trained and are nurturing our communities to re-enforce
or be silent in the presence of your lies.
Now, before going, for all those "certificate freaks" (you know who you are, you call the masters trying to get
"cerified" rather than actually training and learning the expression!
Why do you act like all reputable martial arts instructors have certificates from some recognized
association or "master". Some man made that up!!!
That is right! We create all these paper trails, certificates, validations. Take it to the floor
for a reality check. Some expressions are not about fighting, they may be classical, elegant, beautiful, and display
their own rhythm and practicality? Not everyone wants to fight. I don't think we have to. Now, my first teacher
said: sometimes one moment of violence can undo ten thousand years of wisdom. While he would take it straight to you,
I do not think he was encouraging this behavior. He recognized the weakness in himself during moments where reasoning
just would not do. In this mosaic of life every expression is relevant to fulfill this puzzle of life. forgive
me my short commings and faults. I am but a student.
